i'm sorry that i do not get the time to visit this site very often, but when i do i find it a bit exciting to see what has happened since my last visit.

this post is really about two subjects, but i think that they connect so i will only do one introduction.. child abuse:.

Regarding the Conti case:

According to Chaserious's thread, the decision should be made within 90 days (from 14.1.15)

10 february 2015. while charles manson is busy avoiding being displayed in a glass coffin by his now ex-fiancee, peter sutcliffe is managing his own mortality within the confines of broadmoor hospital.. .

the yorkshire ripper apparently met with funeral directors to plan his own send-off.. sutcliffe, 68, contacted holmes and family funeral directors, whose office is three miles away from the high security hospital in berkshire.. he apparently wishes for the ceremony to be performed in line with his jehovahs witness beliefs.. sutcliffe was handed 20 life sentences for brutally murdering 13 women in the north of england between 1975 and 1980, and attempting to murder seven others.. police believed his killing spree started after he was conned out of money by a prostitute and her pimp.. however, sutcliffe later claimed the voice of god had commanded him to undertake the killings.. the independent (lots of photos of broadmoor psychiatric prison).

Him and Jimmy Savile were supposedly friends. He claimed to be 'cured' back in 2012, if you read this article. What a fine 'Witness' this news should give to people in the community...

He claimed the victims were talking 'rubbish' and insisted his old friend was innocent.

Theists, why does God allow suffering..

..specifically, the suffering of animals.

you can talk about free will/sin/people choosing to not listen to god etc to explain human suffering being allowed.. but how can you love a god that allows animals, that haven't sinned or chosen to not have anything to do with god, to have their short lives ended in often long, drawn out, painful ways.

i could list stories i've read that would probably make you feel ill, but i'm not looking to shock anyone or start an emotional debate.

A Jehovah's Witness recently gave me the following response to the question posed in this topic (Why does a loving God allow animals to suffer?):

"God is allowing mankind the freedom that he rebelled for- which also includes animal abuse."

Has anyone else watched this yet? There are plans to translate it into different languages, and also to screen it worldwide on Christmas day.

Could be an effective anti-witnessing tool, or a way to explain to family who were never JW's what it was like for you?
